ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to individuals or bands who are legal residents of Pima, Santa Cruz, Pinal, or Cochise county, Arizona, who are sixteen (16) years or older at the time of entry and are not professional singers with a current recording contract. Void where prohibited by law. Winners of previous KMSB-TV and FOX11AZ.com contests are not eligible to win another KMSB-TV and FOX11AZ.com contest within a 90-day period. Contestants who have a current or past professional relationship with such judges will be declared ineligible.
Employees, temporary employees, independent contractors and interns of KMSB-TV and FOX11AZ.com (“Sponsors”), Belo Interactive, Inc., Belo Corp., their respective subsidiaries, parents, partners, other contest sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate family members of each, are not eligible to enter.
HOW TO ENTER: Individual performers or bands must fully complete the official on-line entry form. The completed form, a video of yourself, your band or musical entity performing an original song must be submitted NO LATER THAN 11:59 p.m. on August 3, 2009.
All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, damaged, late, illegible or incomplete entries or for any late mail or delivery related to this contest. These entries may be deemed ineligible.
ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
PRIZES:
The following prize(s) will be awarded:
One (1) Popular winner will receive 10 hours recording time at a Studio. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $800.
One (1) Grand prize winner will receive a $1000 gift certificate to The Chicago Music Store located in Tucson, AZ and a slot on stage at the 2009 Fall Crawl. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $1000.
Prizes are non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash; substitutions may not be requested. Travel is not included unless specifically stated. Winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local income and any other taxes, fees and surcharges. An IRS Form 1099 will be issued for all prizes with a retail value in excess of $600. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
WINNER SELECTION
1.POPULAR WINNER SELECTION: Popular selection shall take place after August 15, 2009. The popular winner will be selected in an online poll taking place over a two-week period.
2.GRAND PRIZE WINNER SELECTION: The Grand Prize Winner selection shall take place on or about July 31, 2009 at KMSB-TV, 1855 N. 6th Ave., Tucson, AZ, 85705. The Grand Prize winner will be selected by the following method: Following the submission period, each entry will be viewed by a judging body composed of KMSB-TV staff. Performances will be awarded points based on creativity, production, musicianship, vocals, and song writing. The Performer with the highest point total will be declared the winner.
The Grand Prize winner will be notified by e-mail, phone, U.S. mail and/or overnight courier on or near date specified. If the Grand Prize winner is unreachable after two (2) business days, the Performer with the next highest number of points will be declared the winner. In order to be named a winner, potential winners may be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance Form/Release of liability upon accepting a prize. Noncompliance will result in disqualification and an alternate winner will be selected.
General Terms: By entering the contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Entry constitutes permission to use the contestant’s biographical information, name, picture, likeness, recorded performance, voice and photographs and/or motion pictures of the contestant for purposes of trade, publicity and promotion for no additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). Winners may be required at Sponsor’s direction to participate in taping of promotional segments for the Music Melee concert and/or Sponsor’s advertisers or promotional partners. Contestants release Sponsors, Belo Corp., their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, other contest sponsors and each of their directors, officers, employees and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest, from any and all liability from injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this contest or acceptance or use of any prize. Sponsors assume no responsibility for an error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction of authorized access to, or alteration of, on-line votes. If the Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including legal restrictions, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other causes beyond the control of Contest Sponsors that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Contest Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest.
Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Conduct of auditions and production of the Program will be solely within Sponsor’s discretion. All decisions of Sponsors and the contest judges concerning the contest will be final and binding in all respects.
